Massage

Massage has been recorded as far back as 3000BC in China and was considered to be effective in health preservation and creating a relaxed feeling in the body.  It was used by other civilizations such as the Romans, Greeks, Japanese, and Indian cultures.  The ancient Greeks used massage as part of their everyday fitness routine and massage was also central to Roman baths.  It was used to treat stiff and sore muscles and joints, to heal disease, strengthen the constitution and to improve the circulation.  These cultures are known for their holistic approach to healing and they considered massage to bring balance and harmony to mind, body and spirit.  Massage is still used as a holistic treatment and takes the whole person into consideration, not just a symptom or condition.
